# Adding Walk-in Clients

Use **Quick Add Walk-In** to add a client who arrives without an appointment.
Then check them in from **Front Desk**.

## Before you start

Choose the shop workspace where the visit will take place. You need access to that shop's Front Desk and an artist to assign.
These steps describe the tattoo walk-in form on mobile web. Check the fields shown for the service you are providing.

Have the client's first name and either their email address or phone number ready.

## Add the walk-in

1. Open **Front Desk** in your shop workspace. Tap **Quick Add Walk-In**.

2. Under **Assign to Artist**, choose the artist who will handle the visit.
The artist picker shows availability and offers **Show only available artists**.

3. Enter the client's **First Name** and either **Email** or **Phone**.
**Last Name** is optional. Confirm the contact details with the client.

4. Add the relevant tattoo details and notes. The form includes **Tattoo Size**, style, **Tattoo Placement**, and **Color Scheme**.
Review the artist and client details, then tap **Add Walk-In**.

5. Find the new visit in **Expected**. Adding the visit does not check the client in automatically.
Open the visit's details and choose **Check In** when the client is present.

6. Follow the check-in prompts. An ID prompt may offer options to skip ID or check in without completing the intake steps.
Follow your shop's requirements before using a skip option. A skip does not mean the client supplied ID or signed a waiver.

7. Confirm that the visit appears in **Arrived**. Refresh the board if you need to confirm that the change was saved.
The visit is now waiting for the artist; **Start Session** is a separate action.

## If you cannot add the visit

- Check that an artist is selected.
- Enter the first name and either email or phone. Leaving both contact fields empty keeps **Add Walk-In** unavailable.
- If you cannot find the visit afterward, check the shop workspace, filters, and **Expected** lane before submitting another walk-in.

## Kiosk check-in

A client using a paired kiosk follows a different flow. Do not use this staff form's field requirements as kiosk instructions.
See How to Check In Using the Kiosk.
