# How Chat, SMS, and Email Work Together

Chat and notification settings are separate surfaces. Do not assume that every chat message is copied to every channel.

1. Open a project's **Chat** to find the conversation with your artist.
2. Open **Account menu → Account settings → Notifications** to review In-app, Email, SMS, and Push choices.
3. Check the **Chat messages** notification type alongside the channel settings.
4. Save changes and verify the setting after reload.
