Check the current offering and readiness status for each service. A service appearing in this list does not prove clients can book it. There are two ideas to keep straight, because the product keeps them separate on purpose: - **Offering** a service means you tell Apprentice "I do this." It's a simple on/off choice. - **Bookable** means clients can actually book it. A service only becomes bookable after you finish its short **readiness checklist** (pricing, forms, and a compliance attestation). Turning a service on does **not** make it bookable by itself — you also complete the checklist. This guide covers turning services on; see *Activating a New Service: The Readiness Checklist* for the checklist itself. --- ## How to Access **As an artist:** 1. Choose **Your studio**, then open **More → Setup → Settings** on mobile web 2. Switch to your **shop workspace** using the workspace switcher 2. Go to **Settings** → under **Get Booked**, click **Services** *(Only shop owners and admins can change the shop's services.)* --- ## Turning On a Service ### As an artist — "Services you offer" Each service has a simple toggle: **Offer** or **Don't offer**. Flip a service to **Offer** to declare that you personally provide it. This opens that service's readiness checklist below. > 💡 **Tip:** You must offer at least one service at all times. Apprentice won't let you turn off your last remaining service. ### As a shop — "Services Offered" Shops use a three-way setting per service: - **Auto** — Advertise this service whenever one of your artists offers it. *(The usual choice.)* - **On** — Always advertise it, even if no artist currently offers it. - **Off** — Never advertise it. This overrides your artists. --- ## What the Status Chips Mean After you turn a service on, each service card shows a status: - **Booking enabled** — Live. Clients can book this service. - **Not ready** — You still have readiness steps to finish. A checklist appears below the card. - **Ready when Apprentice enables this service** — You've finished everything; the service is waiting on Apprentice to launch it platform-wide. Check the status shown for your account instead of assuming a service is available everywhere. - **Paused** — Your shop set this service to **Off**. Check both the service status and your public booking flow after setup. Do not advertise a service as bookable while its status says it is waiting or not ready. --- ## Tips - Start with one service and complete its checklist end-to-end before turning on the next — Apprentice activates services one at a time. - A shop's roster shows each artist's offered services, so clients can see who does what. - Offering a service is the first step, not the last. Watch for the **Not ready** chip and work the checklist beneath it. --- ## Common Issues - **I turned a service on but clients can't book it** — Turning a service on only opens its readiness checklist. Finish every requirement on the card (see *Activating a New Service: The Readiness Checklist*) and the chip will change to **Booking enabled**. - **I can't turn a service off** — You must offer at least one service. Turn on another service first, then turn this one off. - **A service shows "Paused"** — Your shop set it to **Off**, which overrides individual artists.
