# What Happens to My Data If I Delete My Account?

Account deletion is presented as an irreversible action. Do not use it to troubleshoot a temporary access problem.

1. Open **Account menu → Account settings → Security & Privacy**.
2. Read **Your Data** and the **Danger Zone** description before deciding what to do.
3. Contact support first if you need to understand what happens to shared projects, signed documents, payments, or shop records.

Read the deletion warning carefully. Check the linked privacy policy and ask support about any records you need to keep before proceeding.

To keep a copy of your personal data first, choose **Export Data** under **Your Data**. We'll email you a download link when it's ready. Artists can also export their client list; see [Exporting Your Clients](https://help.useapprentice.com/en/article/exporting-your-clients-rsu368/). Clients your shop owns may be left out if the shop turned off exports.

Shop owners: your personal export doesn't include your shop's records. Download a [shop data archive](https://help.useapprentice.com/en/article/downloading-your-shop-data-archive-11rnvyu/) before closing a shop or deleting the owner account.
