Apprentice offers three artist subscription tiers: Free, Starter, and Professional. Each tier provides different feature limits for AI generations, bookings, and advanced tools. This guide helps you understand what's included in each plan and choose the tier that best fits your business needs and growth stage.

Step 1: Compare Subscription Tiers

Free Plan - $0/month

Best for: Artists just starting out or testing the platform

Included Features:

• 5 AI generations per month
• 10 active projects at once
• Basic booking calendar
• Client chat and messaging
• Portfolio hosting (up to 25 images)
• Mobile-responsive public artist page
• Email and in-app notifications

Limitations:

• No custom branding
• No Google Calendar integration
• Limited analytics
• Standard support

Starter Plan - $29/month

Best for: Working artists with consistent bookings

Included Features:

• 50 AI generations per month
• Unlimited active projects
• Advanced booking rules and pricing
• Google Calendar sync
• SMS notifications
• Custom artist page colors
• Portfolio hosting (up to 100 images)
• Flash design inventory tracking
• Basic analytics dashboard
• Priority email support

New Capabilities:

• Booking links with custom pricing

Professional Plan - $79/month

Best for: Established artists running a full tattoo business

• 200 AI generations per month

Step 3: Check Your Current Usage

To see how much you're using:

1. Go to Settings → Subscription
2. View your Usage Dashboard:

• AI generations used this month
• Active projects count
• Portfolio storage used
• SMS credits consumed

3. Identify if you're approaching your plan limits

Step 4: Upgrade or Downgrade

To change your subscription tier:

1. Navigate to Settings → Subscription
2. Click Change Plan
3. Select your new tier (Free, Starter, or Professional)
4. Review the pricing and features
5. Click Confirm Change

Billing Notes:

• Upgrades: Prorated charges apply immediately
• Downgrades: Take effect at the end of your current billing cycle
• Cancellation: Your plan remains active until the end of the billing period

Step 5: Set Up Payment Method (Paid Plans)

For Starter or Professional plans:

1. Navigate to Settings → Billing
2. Click Add Payment Method
3. Enter your credit card details
4. Set your billing address
5. Click Save Card
6. Your subscription charges on the same day each month

Step 6: Monitor Your AI Generation Usage

AI generations are rate-limited to prevent abuse:

1. Check your AI Generation Quota in Settings → Subscription
2. See daily breakdown of generations used
3. Set up Low Quota Alerts to notify you at 80% usage
4. Purchase additional generations as needed

Rate Limits (All Plans):

• Maximum 6 generations per minute
• Daily rolling quota based on monthly allotment

• Professional for serious businesses: If tattooing is your full-time income, Professional tier provides the tools you need
• Watch your AI usage: AI generations are the most limited resource—use them strategically on client projects
• Annual billing saves money: Pay annually for 2 months free (Starter: $290/year, Professional: $790/year)
• Add-ons for bursts: If you need extra AI generations one month, buy an add-on instead of upgrading permanently

Common Issues

• Issue: I ran out of AI generations mid-month → Solution: Purchase an Extra AI Generations add-on ($10 for 50 generations) immediately. Consider upgrading if this happens regularly.

• Issue: My card was declined → Solution: Check your card details are correct, has sufficient funds, and international transactions are allowed. Contact your bank if issues persist.

• Issue: I downgraded but still see Professional features → Solution: Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing cycle. You'll have access to your current tier until then.

• Issue: I want to cancel but keep my portfolio → Solution: Downgrade to the Free plan instead of canceling completely. Your portfolio remains accessible on the Free tier.

• Issue: I need more than 200 AI generations per month → Solution: Contact support for enterprise pricing. We can customize a plan for high-volume users.
