Understanding Shop Promotions

See how shop-wide promotions from your shop owner affect your pricing and bookings.

Overview

If you're part of a tattoo shop on Apprentice, your shop owner can create promotions that apply to all artists. These show up in your Pricing area so you can see what's active, but only the shop admin can create or edit them.

If you're a solo artist, this tab won't apply to you.

How to Get There

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar
  2. Under Get Paid, click Pricing
  3. Select the Shop Promotions tab

What You'll See

If You're Part of a Shop

A list of active and upcoming promotions your shop owner created. These might include shop-wide flash sales, holiday deals, new client specials, or event pricing like Friday the 13th.

If You're Not Part of a Shop

You'll see: "Not Part of a Shop" — "Shop overrides are only available for artists who are members of a shop. Join a shop to access shop-wide promotions."

This is normal. You can still create your own promotions using the Pricing Rules, Flash Sales, and Special Events tabs.

How Shop Promotions Work

Shop promotions are inherited — they're created at the shop level and automatically apply to your bookings when conditions match.

What you can do: View active promotions, see how they affect your pricing, check which bookings are affected.

What you can't do: Create, edit, or delete them. Only shop admins can manage shop promotions.

Tips

  • Check Shop Promotions before creating your own to avoid double-discounting
  • Talk to your shop admin if a promotion conflicts with your strategy
  • Use the Performance tab to see how shop promotions affect your revenue

Common Issues

  • I see "Not Part of a Shop" — Expected for solo artists. Manage your own promotions through the other Pricing tabs.
  • Shop promotion lowering my prices too much — Talk to your shop admin. They control shop-wide promotions.
  • Want to run my own promotion while shop has one active — You can, but both may stack. Coordinate with your admin.
